These days, weddings almost always mean travel. It could be for the bride, groom, their families and/or their friends "returning home" from lives lived elsewhere. Or, more likely, it will be guests who journey to the event from afar. Regardless of who is gassing up the car or booking a flight, if it's wedding related travel then it's a good bet there's more to arrange than modes of transportation. Many couples soon realize they'll need to advise guests on places to stay and places to eat, as well as recommend and (possibly) book certain sights to see and things to do. After all, there's plenty of "free" time to fill before the wedding. What results is a plethora of unanticipated tasks, which can throw a kink into even the most organized of planning timetables. Where can a harried couple find help? More and more are turning to concierge services to handle those details. "I can offer them choices," explains Barbara Wellman, President of Black Tie Concierge Services in Southborough, MA. "They buy my rolodex." (In case you were wondering, she uses the old-fashioned round, 360-degree type, "and it's stacked full of trusted sources." She says.) Here are just a few ways a concierge can come in handy.
